We have such fond memories of BBM as the dominant messaging app in the mobile space, and the dull clicking of physical keyboards. Since then, naysayers have repeatedly tried to predict the doom of the company, but it has survived, by hook or by crook, and in no small part due to the efforts of its current CEO, John Chen. It runs near-stock Android software and ships with a bunch of bespoke BlackBerry applications.
