Interview with PM Prachanda

KATHMANDU: A panel formed to study details about constructing the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track on Monday submitted its report to the government, urging it to run the project on its own investment. The seven-member panel headed by National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Min Bahadur Shrestha submitted the report to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today. The panel has also recommended that the government can use the old detailed project report for the construction, according to the PM’s Secretariat. The panel has suggested that the government should allocate an annual budget of Rs 10 billion to Rs 20 billion for the project. Receiving the report, the Prime Minister said the government would very soon begin the construction work as suggested by the committee.
