CPN (Maoist Centre) discusses on election preparation

The CPN (Maoist Centre) held discussion about the preparation of election of local bodies. During the Party Headquarters meeting held at official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar on Saturday, discussion was held on various issues including preparation of election, party’s internal activities and situation of party, among others. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Party Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal reviewed about contemporary politics and organisational issues of the party. The Prime Minister briefed the meeting on the contemporary political situation, the government’s preparation regarding the local level election and the consultations being held with the political parties. In the meeting, members of the party headquarters put forth their suggestions on the internal matters to do with the party, the constitution amendment process and the local level elections. Likewise, the meeting decided to carry out works pertaining to renewal of party memberships, hold the convention of the party’s district-level committees, unify the fronts, people’s class organisations and departments that are yet to be unified and to streamline the party’s organisational works keeping the election in consideration. Reviewing the political situation, the meeting concluded that holding the local level election has become inevitable. The party headquarters members has suggested the government to announce the date for the election within a couple of days for holding discussions one last time with the ruling coalition partner Nepali Congress, the Madhesi Front and the Election Commission as well, the Prime Minister’s chief political advisor Chakrapani Khanal said. The meeting has been adjourned to meet again.
